Voluntary Mother Labour in Neoliberal System: Class Mothers and Implications of Unpaid Woman Labour in Marketization of Education.

The presentation aims to tackle with the roles of mothers within the school system in the process of neoliberal transformation, utilizing the terms of house labour, caring labour, and voluntary labor which are distinctively used in the discussions on women. The presence of mothers in schools is analyzed in terms of unpaid labor processes. It is discussed how the unique qualities of that particular labor are in interaction with the patriarchal roles attributed to women, and how women make use of those tools to reach to the power positions in schools. The features of the interactions and relations in school environment are demonstrated, focusing on reproduction of gender inequality and exclusion based on class differences.
